Role Overview
Our Client is seeking to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of local and international clients, handling various aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and taxation. This role is ideal for professionals looking to broaden their experience within a thriving corporate services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial and Management Accounting: Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare management accounts for a portfolio of clients across different sectors.
- VAT Compliance: Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure full compliance with all relevant VAT regulations.
- Tax Reporting: Compute and submit corporate tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
- Client Reporting: Provide regular financial updates and reports to management, highlighting key financial data and trends.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee a diverse portfolio of companies, ensuring that client needs are met with a high standard of service and within agreed timelines.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Experience: Experience in a Malta-based client-facing accounting role, preferably within a corporate services or professional services environment. Recent graduates or candidates in the last stages of obtaining ACCA qualifications are also considered.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal, with a strong client-focused approach.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively within a team while also being confident in managing client relationships independently.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook. Knowledge of accounting software is considered an asset.
- Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive mindset with a commitment to high standards of quality and continuous learning.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking with the capacity to resolve accounting issues and recommend practical solutions.
