At The Villa Bologna Restaurant, the Kitchen Porter/Steward plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by cleaning and maintaining kitchenware including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas
  • Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift
  • Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock and assisting where required during peak service times
  • Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
  • Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Assist in other back of house duties are required by management
Educational and skill requirements
  • Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
