

Assistant Finance Controller
Our client is a leading technology solutions provider with offices in Malta and London, specializing in software and digitization solutions that drive business efficiency and digital transformation. They provide tech solutions for B2B and B2C clients, helping their clients with business document automation, imaging technologies, and software solutions.
As an Assistant Financial Controller, the right candidate will report to the Financial Controller while working closely with the Accounts Team to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls, and drive process improvements. This role is ideal for a proactive individual eager to grow, take on increasing responsibility, and contribute to strategic financial planning.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare management accounts, develop financial reports, and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting, monitor variances, and provide insights into strategic decisions.
- Cash Flow Management: Maintain cash flow projections, ensure liquidity, and optimize working capital.
- Audit & Compliance: Support audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounts team, promote best practices, and drive process improvements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to align financial objectives, provide insights, and support key projects.
- Process Improvement & Special Projects: Enhance internal procedures and support ad-hoc financial initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience (e.g., accounts preparation, financial analysis, audit support).
- Possession of, or current progress towards, an accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (IFRS, GAAP, or local accounting standards).
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Prior experience in managing or supervising a small finance team is advantageous.
