Automotive Diagnostic Technician/Automotive Technician

Location: Magħtab, L/O Naxxar, Malta
Pay: Competitive wage based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting and inspections on various vehicles
Diagnose and repair domestic cars and light commercial vehicles
Must have knowledge of SCR Systems, DPF, and EGR
Maintain a positive attitude and work efficiently both independently and within a team

Requirements

✔ Minimum 3 years of workshop experience
✔ Good communication skills in English
✔ A valid driving license is essential

Main tasks and responsibilities

Automotive Diagnostic Technician

Perform advanced diagnostic procedures using manufacturer and multi-brand diagnostic equipment.
Carry out accurate fault finding on electrical, electronic, and mechanical vehicle systems.

Diagnose and repair faults related to:

Engine management systemsCAN-Bus systems
ABS, ESP, and safety systems
SCR and DPF aftertreatment systems
Hybrid and electric vehicle systems (where applicable)
Interpret wiring diagrams, technical schematics, and OEM service information.
Conduct system testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other specialist diagnostic tools.
Perform software updates, coding, and module programming where required.
Support workshop technicians with complex troubleshooting cases.
Ensure repairs are completed according to manufacturer standards and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate job card documentation and detailed diagnostic reports.
Liaise with workshop supervisor and administration regarding technical findings and required parts.
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, especially when working on hybrid and electric vehicles.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, diagnostic equipment, and work area.
