Crewing Operator

Our client, an international company that specializes in ro-ro shipping, is currently looking to recruit a Crewing Operator to join the team on a full-time basis. The Crewing Operator will report directly to the Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper manning of a number of the company's ships.

Responsibilities:

• Organizing crew changes and making the necessary travel arrangements
• Applying for the seafarers' documents with the flag authorities
• Issuing employment contracts for the seafarers
• Handling the payroll of the seafarers
• Taking part in an on-call rota system for any after-hours emergencies (approximately 10 weeks/year, for an additional allowance*)
• Being the first point of contact for the Captain of your ships for employment-related queries.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Operational and communication skills
• Organized and meticulous
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Proficient in the use of MS Word and MS Excel
• Self-motivated and the ability to take initiative
• Ability to work independently and under pressure

Although the crewing experience will be considered an asset, a training will be provided to candidates with the right aptitude.
