Deli Attendant

Diar il-Bniet is a renowned restaurant and agritourism destination in Dingli, Malta, celebrated for its authentic Maltese cuisine and warm hospitality. Our Local Deli extends this experience by offering freshly prepared meals, artisanal products, and a true taste of Maltese heritage in a modern and welcoming setting.

We are currently seeking Deli Attendants (Part-Time) to join our team and act as the face of our deli. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and take pride in delivering a high-quality experience to both locals and visitors.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Greet and serve customers in a friendly and professional manner
Present and explain Diar il-Bniet products, highlighting locally sourced ingredients from our estate
Prepare and serve food and beverages, including coffee and light snacks
Handle cash and card transactions accurately, including end-of-shift cash reconciliation
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the deli, service counter, and seating areas
Restock shelves and assist with basic inventory management
Support daily deli operations and ensure smooth service flow
Assist with setting up and clearing tables
Deliver excellent customer service at all times

Educational and skill requirements

Previous experience in food service or hospitality is considered an asset (but not essential)
Food Handling License (Category B)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic knowledge of food handling and hygiene standards
Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
A genuine interest in Maltese food, culture, and local produce
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
