Director of Studies

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Studies (DoS) to lead our academic team. The DoS will be responsible for overseeing the academic integrity of our programs, managing teaching staff, and ensuring compliance with the ELT Council’s regulations in Malta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the academic department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality English language programs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise teaching staff, fostering continuous professional development.
  • Teach when required and develop and implement curricula that meet the diverse needs of our student body.
  • Ensure compliance with the ELT Council’s standards and policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching quality through regular observations and feedback.
  • Address student academic concerns and support their learning objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid ELT Permit.
  • A police certificate of good conduct issued within the last month prior to application and maintain such certification to be provided on demand throughout the tenure of the post.

One of the following Academic Qualifications:

  • An international diploma at postgraduate level (National Qualifications Framework Level 7) in ELT from a recognized institution ( DELTA, DipTESOL, MA in TESOL), plus a minimum of 1,000 contact ELT hours over at least twelve cumulative months
  • A first degree in English (National Qualifications Framework Level 6) and an international certificate at National Qualifications Framework Level 5 in ELT from a recognized institution, plus a minimum of 1,500 contact ELT hours over at least twelve cumulative months.
  • A postgraduate degree (National Qualifications Framework Level 7) in Education, Applied Linguistics, or Linguistics with a specialization in ELT, and an international certificate at National Qualifications Framework Level 5 in ELT from a recognized institution, plus a minimum of 2,000 contact ELT hours over at least twelve cumulative months.
