Finance Clerk

We are looking for a meticulous and reliable Finance Officer to join our finance team within a financial institution. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial recordkeeping, and assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory and internal financial controls. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the institution’s back-office financial functions.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Process and maintain accounts payable and receivable records
  • Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Maintain accounting databases and filing systems
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments
  • Assist with audits (internal & external)
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed
  • Coordinate with banks to ensure access to banking systems and services for seamless financial transactions
  • Reconcile daily transactions and balances from various financial systems, ensuring they align with bank statements and internal records.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Proven experience in an accounting or clerical role, preferably within a financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work with sensitive financial data confidentially
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
