Finance Officer

Overall Purpose of Position

The Finance Officer plays an important role in the Finance Function by ensuring that tasks are delivered in a timely manner and to a high standard.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Perform the day-to-day accounting.
  • Posting of Invoices/Journals/Entries on the Accounting system in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with month end related tasks, including reconciliations and uploading of journals.
  • Performing Account reconciliations i.e. supplier statements reconciliations, premiums/ claims payable and other essential reconciliations.
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process and liaise with the Auditors in relation to any requests done.
  • Performing all the BUPA monthly accounting procedures and returns including monthly reporting to Ireland and UK.
  • Other Accounting duties as assigned from time to time by management.
Educational and skill requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Minimum A' level or AAT diploma in Accountancy
  • Ability to communicate effectively and possess customer-handling skills
  • Be prepared to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • An ability to look at situations from several points of view and able to juggle multiple tasks with deftness
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Computer skills and proficient in excel, word and outlook
