General Maintenance Worker

Falbra Ltd is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, pool maintenance and other building systems within a hotel, restaurant and throughout our outlets.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Inspect and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair
Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors, lights, fridges, plugs, fuses or other building fixtures
Inspect pool equipment, such as pumps and filters, and report any issues to the Manager or Supervisor
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backwashing filters and cleaning skimmer baskets
Perform routine maintenance, corrective and preventative maintenance and regular tests on building equipment and facilities
Perform minor repairs and/or replacements of room furniture, fixtures, and equipment to include television sets, light fixtures, etc;
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the hotel’s exterior areas, including the swimming pool and all other aspects pertaining to the hotel’s overall landscape
Request to order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
Operate and perform periodical checks on the maintenance equipment, water pressure, generator set etc
Create a periodic maintenance schedule and also design preventive maintenance programs for the property
Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager.

Educational and skill requirements

Must be fluent in English
Must have a Diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar role is required
Must have strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, good time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have attention to detail and be proactive, responsible and reliable
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Experience and knowledge in plumbing, air-conditioning servicing and troubleshooting, wiring & electrical, pool maintenance, carpentry and/or other general repair skills
Experience using hand and electrical tools
Must be in Malta
