

Group IT Manager
Position Summary
The Group IT Manager is responsible for the overall management, execution of strategy, security, and development of the Group’s Information Technology function. This role ensures that IT infrastructure, cloud-based systems, networks, and enterprise software support the company’s strategic objectives, operational efficiency, and future growth, particularly within a construction, production and retail environment.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1.0 IT Strategy & Planning
1.1 Develop, maintain, and continuously update the Group’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
1.2 Design and plan robust IT systems and infrastructure to support business continuity, scalability, security, and risk management.
1.3 Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks across the Group.
2.0 System Infrastructure & Operations
2.1 Oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure, including:
• Hardware (servers, workstations, mobile devices, peripherals)
• Networks (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls)
• Cloud-based platforms and services
2.2 Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all systems.
2.3 Manage data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
3.0 IT Solutions & Digital Transformation
3.1 Design and implement IT solutions that proactively support and improve business processes in a cost-effective manner.
3.2 Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation within construction, project management, finance, procurement, HR, and asset management.
3.3 Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on technology opportunities and risks.
3.4 Keep up to date with latest solutions including but not limited to artificial intelligent, that could be applicable to the group.
4.0 ERP & IT Project Management
4.1 Manage the implementation of Microsoft Business Central and ancillary applications and enhancements.
4.3 Manage project timelines, budgets, scope, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
4.4 Ensure successful user adoption through training, documentation, and change management.
5.0 Hardware, Software & Vendor Management
5.1 Jointly with the group procurement department, optimise and administer the procurement or outsourcing of hardware, software, and IT services.
5.2 Negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure value for money and service quality.
5.3 Manage software licensing, renewals, and asset inventories.
6.0 Cybersecurity & Risk Management
6.1 Ensure appropriate cybersecurity measures are in place to protect systems, networks, and data.
6.2 Monitor and mitigate IT-related risks, including cyber threats, system failures, and data breaches.
6.3 Lead incident response and recovery efforts in collaboration with management and external specialists.
7.0 Leadership & Team Management
7.1 Lead, motivate, and develop the Group IT team.
7.2 Set performance objectives, conduct appraisals, and support professional development.
7.3 Ensure effective workload management and succession planning within the IT function.
8.0 Quality and Continual Improvement
8.1 Carry out duties with attention to quality and contribute to the continual improvement of work processes
9.0 Health & Safety
9.1 Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by following all health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, and promptly reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses
10.0 Environment
10.1 Comply with all environmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and actively support initiatives to reduce environmental impact, waste, and resource consumption in the workplace
Level of Education Standard & Experience Required
MQF LEVEL 6 (DEGREE)
FIELDS OF STUDY – Information Technology or similar
YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE – 10 years
