In August 2022 Onella was created. A cosy, casual wine bar in the central-northern part of Malta - Naxxar, where people gather for lovely wine, beer, cocktails, and good conversation, where service comes with a friendly smile. Passionate about their wine menu featuring a large variety of wine as well as a further 25 wines-by-the-glass, you can count on a wide selection of red, white, rosé, and sparkling from all four corners of the wine world. All drinks are served in RIEDEL glassware. Onella also features a fully-stocked kitchen, with delicious sharing plates every single week like Parmigiana, Baked Rosette, Rabbit Spring Rolls, Lasagna Fritta, Parma Ham, and Parmigiano Focaccia. The food menu offers a variety of vegetable, meat, and fish-based dishes sure to satisfy any diner’s palate. Located within a house at Victory Square, close to Naxxar’s church, this house was built by Vincenzo Bonavia towards the middle of the 19th century and the coat of arms on the entrance door shows the griffon, a symbol of Christ representing the right road (‘Bona’ + ‘Via’). Onella is run by the team behind Sliema’s iconic Fernandõ Gastrotheque – a fine dining establishment recognised in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide.
