Head Chef - Culinary Experience

We are seeking an exceptional Head Chef – Culinary Experiences to lead our kitchen operations and further strengthen our culinary identity.

This is not a traditional Head Chef role.

We are looking for a culinary leader who combines operational excellence with creativity and a passion for experiential dining. The selected candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations while also delivering hands-on culinary workshops and interactive experiences for corporate groups, schools, and private clients.

This role requires a strong leader who is equally confident managing a kitchen brigade and engaging directly with guests.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Direct and manage all daily kitchen operations to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and efficiency
Design and implement innovative, seasonally inspired menus aligned with the restaurant's culinary vision
Lead, motivate, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment
Conduct menu tastings and training sessions to maintain consistency and excellence
Conduct recipe costings
Enforce the highest hygiene, safety, and food handling standards
Monitor culinary trends and introduce fresh ideas to keep the restaurant at the forefront of the dining scene
Delivery of various culinary classes, directly to clients

Educational and skill requirements

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
Culinary degree or equivalent qualification
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Exceptional creativity paired with a passion for delivering unforgettable dining experiences
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Fluency in Maltese and English
