Head Waiter

Diar il-Bniet is a renowned restaurant and agritourism destination in Dingli, Malta, celebrated for its authentic Maltese cuisine and warm hospitality. We pride ourselves on offering a unique farm-to-table dining experience that highlights local produce, traditional recipes, and the rich heritage of Maltese food culture.

We are currently seeking a Head Waiter to lead our front-of-house team and ensure the highest standards of service are delivered at all times. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate daily front-of-house operations
  • Lead, train, and motivate the service team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensure smooth and efficient service flow during all service periods
  • Greet and interact with guests, ensuring a warm and professional experience
  • Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special requests effectively
  • Manage table allocation, reservations, and seating arrangements
  • Ensure all staff maintain high standards of presentation and service
  • Monitor cleanliness and organisation of the restaurant and service areas
  • Liaise closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate service
  • Oversee POS operations, including billing accuracy and cash handling
  • Staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring
  • Assist in the organisation and execution of events, group bookings, and functions
Educational and skill requirements
  • Food Handling License (Category B)
  • Excellent communication skills in Maltese and English
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within hospitality or restaurant service
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of restaurant service standards and procedures
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong attention to detail
  • Interest in Maltese cuisine and local produce is considered an asset
