Health & Safety Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Maltese Occupational Health & Safety legislation, conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety procedures, delivering training, investigating incidents, conducting workplace inspections, and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct and review risk assessments, ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with Maltese Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
- Lead workplace inspections, audits, and safety investigations.
- Identify hazards and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver Health & Safety training, inductions, and awareness programmes.
- Manage contractor safety and permit-to-work systems.
- Monitor and report on Health & Safety performance, KPIs, incidents, and trends.
- Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement
Educational and skill requirements
- Degree, Diploma, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a Health & Safety management role, preferably within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, engineering, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of Maltese Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and internal audits.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence, coach, and engage employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
