HR Manager

The Marvin Gauci Group operates a collection of renowned restaurants in Malta, including Caviar & Bull, Sole Seabar by Tarragon, and Don Royale. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to join our growing team.

The HR Manager will lead and direct all human resources functions across the Group. This includes overseeing recruitment, employee relations, payroll processes, compliance, and the implementation of company policies and procedures.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring full compliance with legal and company requirements
  • Manage recruitment processes: advertising roles, supporting interviews, and coordinating employee onboarding
  • Prepare and issue job offers, job descriptions, and employment contracts
  • Assist with non-EU work permit processes
  • Ensure all employees are informed of, and compliant with, company SOPs and policies
  • Verify and manage payroll inputs, including working hours, leave, and absences
  • Process monthly payroll using Shireburn Indigo (including payslips, FS3s, and bank transfer coordination)
  • Oversee employee leave management in collaboration with restaurant managers and head chefs
  • Handle disciplinary procedures and employee terminations
  • Organise and coordinate training sessions and development initiatives
  • Implement and manage performance appraisal processes
  • Conduct exit interviews and report findings to senior management
  • Respond to HR-related queries and provide ongoing support to staff
  • Prepare HR and payroll reports, including cost analysis
  • Liaise with government authorities and external stakeholders on HR matters (including NSO reporting)
  • Stay updated on employment law and act as the primary HR advisor within the Group
Educational and skill requirements
  • Proven experience in an HR management role, preferably within hospitality or a multi-site environment
  • Strong knowledge of Maltese employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience with payroll systems (Shireburn Indigo preferred)
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities
