We are currently looking for a Junior IT Support & Systems Specialist to join our IT Department at our Head Office.
The Job:
Reporting to the Head of IT, the Junior IT Support & Systems Assistant will support day-to-day IT operations and assist in resolving technical issues for end users. The selected candidate will also be given the opportunity to gradually learn and support various business applications used across different departments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career to grow within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to end users (hardware, software, and systems).
- Assist in maintaining IT systems including PCs, printers, and basic network infrastructure.
- Support the setup and configuration of user accounts, devices, and applications.
- Learn and assist in the basic maintenance of selected business applications.
- Help maintain IT documentation, inventories, and user guides.
- Escalate issues to senior team members or vendors when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers as needed.
- Participate in IT projects and training as part of professional development.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or currently studying).
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Office 365, and networking fundamentals.
- Some experience in a support or helpdesk role (internships or entry-level positions are acceptable).
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Good problem-solving and communication abilities.
- A team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems or ITIL practices.
- Exposure to business applications or cloud-based systems.
- Microsoft certifications or coursework (e.g., MS-900, AZ-900) will be considered an asset.
- Any experience with POS systems (e.g., Oracle Simphony) is a plus.
