

Junior Legal Officer (Litigation)
About the Function:
The Legal Affairs team provides legal advice internally across the organisation on a wide range of matters including enforcement and supervisory matters, as well as matters of an operational nature. It is also involved in the coordination and oversight of the legislative process in so far as laws administered by the MFSA are concerned. Moreover, Legal Affairs attends to any litigation matters and represents the Authority in any action or legal proceedings in which the MFSA is involved or has an interest in.About the RoleWithin this role you will be reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel and will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
• Assisting in the upkeeping of the Function’s records.
• Carrying out of legal research.
• Assisting in matters related to litigation or potential litigation before the Courts of Law or Tribunals.
• Informing the relevant functions, within the Authority, of any relevant litigation proceedings, providing the necessary support in preparation to such proceedings and providing updates in relation thereto.
• Liaising with stakeholders outside the Authority on litigation matters.
• Perform such other function or duties as may be assigned based on the exigencies of the Authority.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head and/or as may be required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.
About You:
The role requires a University of Malta Degree in Law (LL.D or Master of Advocacy level). The candidate must either possess a warrant or is in the process of obtaining one to practice in the Courts of Malta and a one-year practice (‘prattika’) with a reputable law firm.
