Laundry Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, hard-working, and detail-oriented Laundry Assistant to join our team. You will be responsible for handling high volumes of linen and towels from our short-let properties and vacation rentals. Your main goal is to ensure all laundry is processed efficiently and meet our high-quality standards.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Sorting & Inspecting: Separate linens, towels, and sheets by color and fabric type.
check for stains, tears, or damage before washing.
Washing & Drying: Load and operate industrial washing machines and dryers using the correct settings and chemical dosages.
Ironing & Folding: Operate commercial ironing machines (calenders) and neatly fold sheets, towels, and pillowcases to hotel-standard presentation.
Packing & Organizing: Count, pack, and organize clean linen bundles into delivery bags for the drivers according to daily schedules.
Stain Treatment: Identify heavily stained items and apply appropriate pre-treatment solutions before washing.
Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation within the laundry facility.

Educational and skill requirements

Experience: 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in a professional laundry or housekeeping environment.
Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy laundry bags, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot stains, hair, or damage instantly to ensure high-quality control.
Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and willing to work extra hours/overtime when operations require it.
Language: Basic conversational English to communicate effectively with the operations team
Applicants must already be residing in Malta and be legally eligible to work in Malta
