Koperattiva Produtturi tal-Ħalib Group Ltd. (KPH), which is the Dairy Farmers’ Cooperative, was established in June 1958 in order to bring together all the dairy producers in Malta and Gozo to further promote their interests and increase their competitive advantage.
Over the years KPH has been a leader in several agricultural activities, which include grain and feed importation, feed manufacturing, farm supplies, and support services, milk processing, and the production and distribution of the well-known Benna fresh milk products. Considerable investments throughout the years enabled the Cooperative to evolve. Members started expanding their activities penetrating and sustaining vital sectors within the local dairy and agricultural industry.

Lead Technician (Mechanical)
Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, the Engineering and Maintenance Technical Leader must ensure that facilities, layout, production equipment and other support services run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes but is not limited to total preventive maintenance, managing breakdowns and most importantly people management.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and guide a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Perform hands-on mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs and diagnostics.
- Ensure equipment availability and reliability by minimizing downtime.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Manage tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
- Enforce health, safety, environmental, and GMP/HACCP compliance.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop team skills through training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure KPIs, quality standards, and production targets are met.
Leadership & People Management:
- Provide on-the-floor leadership, assigning and supervising tasks.
- Promote a positive, safe, and efficient working culture.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback.
- Train and coach team members to enhance technical and soft skills.
- Write, amend, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor compliance with food safety standards and conduct related training.
Educational and skill requirements
- Minimum of MQF Level 5 or equivalent.
- Must provide leadership and on the floor management to the team.
- Coordinating and overseeing their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring targets.
- Must act independently whilst bearing in mind that decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success.
