About the role
We are currently looking for a responsible and certified Lifeguard to join our Rehab & Wellness Centre on a part-time casual basis.
Our lifeguards are usually responsible for the general monitoring and supervision of the swimming pool area, to ensure the safety of all individuals making use of our pool facilities and surroundings including all members of the public and staff in line with the relevant Health and Safety Notices.
What you'll be doing
- General observation of all individuals and members making use of the pool area facilities to prevent dangerous or unacceptable behaviors.
- Ensuring constant monitoring of the pool area at all times. Any arrangements should be arranged as the needs arises.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to any problems arising and respond to emergencies taking the appropriate lifesaving actions as needed.
- Attend to minor accidents, administering appropriate first aid and maintain accurate records as necessary.
- Ensure a friendly and effective service to all pool users at all times, addressing any concerns from swimmers and facility visitors.
- Provide accurate, relevant and complete information in response to requests adhering to Data Protection Regulations at all times.
- Enforce rules and regulations to minimize accidents and ensure the safety of all pool users.
- Carry out regular patrols of the pool premises and the immediate surrounding areas.
- Take appropriate action and report any inappropriate behavior to your direct superior.
What we're looking for
A self-disciplined and team-oriented professional, with an adaptable approach and ready to assist in emergency situations.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following:
- Certification in Lifeguarding skills, CPR & First Aid & AED training.
- Candidates must have excellent level of fitness, strength and endurance.
- High proficiency in English Language (Level C1), preference will be given to candidates who are knowledgeable in the Maltese language.
- Previous experience in a relevant field will be considered as an asset.
- Available to work in the evenings and weekends.
Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunisation.
