The Manufacturing Line Technician is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation,
efficiency, and safety of production machinery. This role involves conducting regular
machine maintenance, managing spare parts inventory, performing mechanical and
electrical repairs, and implementing machine improvements. The technician will also
respond to equipment issues during production runs to minimize downtime and ensure
product quality
Machine Maintenance
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing line equipment
to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and machine service history.
- Monitor machine conditions and identify early signs of wear or failure.
Spare Parts Management
- Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components.
- Order and restock parts as needed, while maintaining proper documentation
and cost control. - Work with vendors and suppliers to source quality components.
Electrical & Mechanical Repairs
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery.
- Troubleshoot PLC, motors, sensors, wiring, and other control systems.
Replace or repair mechanical components such as bearings, belts, gears, and
conveyors.
Production Support
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during production runs.
- Collaborate with production staff to minimize disruption and restore normal
operations efficiently. - Record all interventions and repairs during production in the maintenance log
Machine Improvements & Optimization
- Identify opportunities for machine upgrades or process improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, Lean, TPM).
- Assist in the design and implementation of modifications to improve machine
performance and reliability.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure machinery complies with health and
safety regulations. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in safety training and audits.
- Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial
Maintenance, or related field. - 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance
environment. - Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and
electrical systems. - Experience with troubleshooting and repair of automated machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
