A. Falzon Energy Projects Ltd. specialises in heating, cooling, water treatment, gas systems and power generation. We supply, install and maintain equipment from leading international manufacturers, serving both domestic and industrial customers across Malta.
We are seeking a practical, technically minded Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with machinery, solving technical problems and developing specialised skills across a variety of mechanical equipment.
The Role
You will be involved in the installation, servicing, maintenance, testing and repair of mechanical equipment at our workshop and customer sites. You will work with different types of equipment and receive technical support and training to expand your knowledge.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair mechanical equipment and industrial systems.
- Investigate equipment faults, identify their causes and carry out the necessary repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.
- Install, assemble, dismantle and replace mechanical components when required.
- Work with equipment such as pumps, motors, burners, boilers, generators, heat pumps and compressors.
- Assist with equipment installation, start-up, testing and commissioning.
- Carry out mechanical inspections and identify worn, damaged or faulty components.
- Follow technical manuals, service instructions and equipment specifications.
- Prepare service reports and record maintenance and repair activities.
- Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain company tools, equipment and work areas in good condition.
- Provide professional service at customer premises and collaborate with colleagues to complete assigned jobs.
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a practical approach to mechanical work and a genuine interest in technical equipment.
- A technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment servicing or repairs is an advantage.
- Familiarity with pumps, burners, generators, compressors, LPG, etc., or similar equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and mechanical testing equipment safely.
- Ability to understand technical instructions and equipment manuals.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility for assigned work.
- Able to work independently and cooperate effectively with a technical team.
- Willingness to learn, attend training and develop new technical skills.
- A valid driving licence is required.
- Must be residing in Malta.
