Operations Manager – Fit-Out

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Operational Oversight of Fit-Out Projects     

• Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple fit-out projects, ensuring that work is executed according to project plans, schedules, and specifications while maintaining efficiency and productivity across all sites.  

Project Planning and Coordination

• Collaborate with project managers, site managers, and design teams to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure the smooth execution of interior fit-out works.  

Team Leadership and Performance Management

• Lead and support site managers, foremen, and operational staff, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure teams meet operational objectives and maintain high standards of workmanship.  

Resource and Logistics Management

• Coordinate the allocation of labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure optimal resource utilization and minimize project delays or disruptions.              

Budget and Cost Control

• Monitor operational costs and project expenditures, ensuring projects remain within budget by identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing variations, and supporting financial forecasting. While not a primary responsibility, the role may also contribute to the preparation of quotations or tender submissions, either indirectly through the provision of operational input or directly when required.              

Client and Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as a key operational contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of project-related issues.             

Risk Management and Problem Resolution

• Identify potential operational risks and project challenges early, implementing mitigation strategies and proactive solutions to maintain project momentum.

Reporting and Strategic Support

• Provide regular operational reports, performance metrics, and project updates to the Head of Fit-Out, contributing to strategic planning, operational improvements, and business growth initiatives.    

Quality Assurance and Standards

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all fit-out works meet design specifications, client expectations, and industry standards.          

Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety regulations across all project sites, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.     

Environment                                                                                                                              

• Comply with all environmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and actively support initiatives to reduce environmental impact, waste, and resource consumption in the workplace

Level of Education Standard & Experience Required   

• MQF LEVEL 6 (DEGREE)       
• LANGUAGES- WRITTEN/SPOKEN - strong communication skills in English / Maltese
