Customer Care

• Greeting customers as soon as they enter the shop.
• Providing excellent customer care to our customers by building a healthy rapport
• Assisting customers in any queries they might have
• Forwarding any customer complaints to the supervisor on duty

Cash duties

• Counting cash till at the beginning of the shift to make sure that the float is correct
• Scanning all customers’ shopping items
• Making sure that quantities punched are correct
• Upselling items to customers
• Processing of cash and card payments
• Giving out the receipt to the customer
• Preparing cash float for next shift
• Maintaining clean and tidy cash counters

Product Display near Cash Counters

• Checking deliveries vis a vis invoices
• Making sure that all displays are stacked in an excellent manner including; correct pricing and facing
• Following the FIFO system
• Notifying the Shop Supervisors whenever a product is out of stock
• Inputting details of goods received on the electronic system through a handheld PDA
• Maintaining of stores in a clean and tidy manner

Pastry Counter

• Having good knowledge of pastries sold and what ingredients they contain
• Knowing how to stock up the pastry counter as per company guidelines
• Making sure that FIFO is being followed
• Maintaining the pastry counter in a clean and neat manner
• Ensuring correct packaging of pastry products

Procedures and Policies

• Following all Health and Safety regulations at all times in all areas
• Updating of all documentation including temperature sheets and cleaning schedules that may be required
• Following of standards and company procedures
  
  

Others

• The cash desks and walkways are to be kept clear at all times
• Other duties that might be requested from time to time
• As a Shop Assistant the employee assists the Shop Supervisors in a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the business.
