Our client is a leader in banknote security technology that specializes in designing and manufacturing secure banknotes for global central banks.
The company's branch in Malta plays a crucial role in global operation, focusing on the latest in high-security printing technology and innovation, serving as a key player in the production and design process.
We are looking for an organised, outgoing, creative and multitasking individual to join the company in the capacity of Production Manager who will be accountable and will oversee manufacturing activities within the Business Unit.
The Production Manager is expected to lead the transformation towards Operational Excellence and to mentor, coach and guide the development of the workforce towards embedding Operational Excellence as part of the day to day operations via effective management of People, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Security targets for the assigned process/es.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Malta Site Lead and Senior Leadership Team with Escalations impacting the Business Unit
- Define a Technical Implementation Plan (TIP) and deliver weekly Delivery TIP together with supporting data
- Lead Gemba, Level 2 meetings, Escalation Meetings and Operations Review for Business Unit
- Lead 8D and 4C reports for complaints related to process with support of quality
- Manage factory variances, including overtime, unrecovered and training
- Support the planning department with forecast requirements
- Participate in end of month financial analysis, comparison of actual vs job estimates and understand generated variances
- Own area budget and monitor relevant expenditure.
- Deliver required stock takes in area in line with end of period or yearend requirements
- Collate and analyse data
- Participate in estimate builds and feeds information for estimate compilation with a special focus during budget period
- Define and manage the required headcount in line with Area Loading Capacity and engage the required manpower in line with budget
- Compile and populate EAs in line with budget
- Lead a team of Front Line Managers to deliver on area KPIs for Business Unit
- Drive Technological Improvement supporting Industry 4.0 and drive technological advancement with management and the Business Unit
- Improve the Value Stream of the Business Unit
The selected candidate will:
- Hold an MVQ level 5 Diploma level standard of education or higher
- Be conversant with MS Office applications and with a drive for digitalisation
- Have excellent communication skills in both English and Maltese and comfortable with analyzing data and numbers
- Be self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic environment with limited supervision
- Ideally have experience in a similar role
- Be conversant with Lean Methodology and/or Lean Six Sigma
