Safety & Compliance Manager

Malta International Airport plc is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. The following vacancy has arisen within the Aerodrome Safety & Compliance Department:

Main Responsibilities

  • Advise senior management on aerodrome safety matters.
  • Conduct airside inspections, identify deficiencies, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety reports to ensure timely resolution of hazards.
  • Share safety lessons and best practices with stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) and Compliance Management System (CMS) within MIA’s operations.
  • Ensure compliance with certification terms as aerodrome operator and apron management service provider.
  • Report to senior management on SMS performance, compliance status, and improvement areas.
  • Maintain policies and procedures in line with EASA requirements.
  • Ensure all management system documentation is current and compliant with regulations.
  • Liaise with Transport Malta – Civil Aviation Directorate (TM-CAD) and other stakeholders on safety and compliance matters.
  • Promote a positive company image and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Authority Act and related legislation.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Aviation Management, Safety, Engineering, or related field, would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations or safety.
  • Strong knowledge of EASA regulations.
  • Experience managing Safety and Compliance Management Systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety excellence
