Role Overview
Heroix is collaborating with a well-established professional services firm to recruit a Senior Accountant who will focus on clients operating within the yachting and maritime sectors. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to enhance their expertise in a specialised field, providing accounting and tax services to an international portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Accounting: Manage full accounting functions for a portfolio of clients, particularly those within the yachting and maritime industries.
- VAT and Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with regulations related to yacht leasing structures and cross-border transactions.
- Corporate Taxation: Handle income tax computations and filings, with exposure to maritime tax regimes and relevant fiscal incentives.
- Reporting: Provide regular management reports and maintain accurate financial records for all assigned clients.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee a diversified portfolio of companies, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Fully qualified accountant with a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- Experience: Previous experience in accounting or auditing, preferably with exposure to the yachting or maritime industry.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Interpersonal Skills: Professional and approachable, able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, with solid accounting and analytical capabilities.
- Organisation: Capable of managing multiple client assignments efficiently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Driven and committed to delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset and ability to identify and resolve accounting or compliance issues effectively.
