We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Sommelier to lead our wine program and elevate the guest experience through exceptional wine service, curation, and education.

The Job

Curate and manage the wine list, ensuring it complements our food offering and brand positioning.
Deliver outstanding guest experiences through expert wine service and recommendations.
Train and develop the service team in wine knowledge and pairing techniques.
Monitor wine sales performance and ensure profitability and quality control.
Monitor and manage wine inventory levels, including conducting regular stock checks and communicating needs for replenishment.
Support the Sommeliers where necessary.
Collaborate with the bar and restaurant teams to ensure seamless service and a high-quality guest experience.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing any guest inquiries or concerns related to wine.
Ensure that all wines are stored properly and served at the correct temperatures.

Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sommelier role, including at least 2 years in a senior or head sommelier position.

WSET Level 3 or equivalent (Diploma preferred).

Thorough knowledge of international wine regions, vintages, and pairings.

Exceptional communication and guest engagement skills.

Strong leadership and training capabilities.

Detail-oriented with a passion for hospitality and service excellence.

Familiarity with local vineyards and wineries.

Candidates must be in Malta.

About you

Good spoken and written English, and if possible, Maltese.

Friendly personality and interpersonal skills.
