We are seeking to recruit a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis at db Cafe.
Job Role
- Assisting the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef in the organization and running all the kitchen operations in a professional manner.
- Develop and maintain a well-motivated team.
- Prepare food and expedite to ensure swift and excellent service.
- Take control of the kitchen when the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef is off duty and when necessary.
- Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation of menus and recipes.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
- HACCP process and cleaning schedules are adhered.
- Monitor and control all food, staff and energy costs related to the kitchen.
- Report activities are undertaken by senior management.
- Direct subordinates in meeting their work objectives and company goals.
- Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis.
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
- Ensuring that Health and Hygiene standards are adhered to.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
Jobs Requirements
- A minimum of 3 year experience in Hotel operation.
- Great attention to detail.
- Problem solving with can do attitude.
- Ability to work in high pressure and fast paced environment.
- Strong working organizational skills.
- Flexible to work in weekends and public holidays.
- Communication skills in English, reading and writing is essential, Maltese is a plus.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
