The Role

The Sports Risk Monitor plays a crucial role in our sportsbook, responsible for monitoring and managing the risks associated with our betting operations. By analyzing market trends and assessing the performance of teams and athletes, the Sports Risk Monitor ensures that our odds remain competitive, maximizing profitability and improving margins. This role requires a deep understanding of sports betting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make informed decisions based on complex data. The Sports Risk Monitor collaborates with various teams within the organization to implement effective risk management strategies and provide recommendations for optimizing our sportsbook’s performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Monitoring & Risk Management – Continuously monitor market movements, betting patterns, and react accordingly to optimize profitability.
• Bet Approval & Risk Assessment – Evaluate and approve bets exceeding client limits while ensuring responsible risk exposure.
• Data Analysis & Reporting – Track, analyse, and properly tag incoming bets, providing valuable insights to the Customer Risk Analyst Team.
• Compliance & Product Integrity – Identify, investigate, and address any non-compliant products or suspicious betting activities.
• Process Optimization – Propose strategies to enhance team efficiency and overall sportsbook performance.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing – Work closely with internal teams to drive improvements in trading, product offerings, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Availability to work in a 24/7 team environment, including morning, evening, and late shifts from Monday to Sunday.
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with dashboards such as Power BI is a plus.
• Experience in statistical analysis and manual market compilation.
