Sports Trader

We are looking for a versatile General Sports Trader to join our team in Malta. This is not a single-sport role, it is an operational position where you will handle a wide variety of sports, manage second-line trading duties, and ensure the smooth sailing of our entire betting product.

If you enjoy the technical side of trading from risk management, to mapping new market feeds and love watching everything, this is the role for you.

You will be a key member of the Sportsbook. While specialist traders focus on one sport, you will have a view of the entire offering. You will be responsible for maintaining market integrity across all sports, managing client risk, and ensuring our third-party data feeds are mapped and functioning as expected.

This is a high-responsibility role perfect for someone who wants to understand the entire mechanics of a sportsbook, not just the odds.

We offer a hybrid work model, combining the flexibility of remote work (2 days/week) with the camaraderie and culture of our modern Malta-based office (3 days/week).

Key Responsibilities

• Trading: Act as the primary support for automated and third-party trading feeds across all sports (Football, Tennis, Basketball, US Sports, and niche markets).
• Client Risk Analysis (CRA): Monitor incoming bets in real-time to identify sharp customers, arbitrage betting, and suspicious activity.
• Limit Management: Manually review and approve/reject bet requests that exceed standard limits based on customer profiles and market liquidity.
• Settlement: Ensure accurate and timely settlement of markets across all sports, acting as the final checker for results.
• Mapping: Responsible for the accurate mapping of teams, leagues, and tournaments from third-party providers to our internal system.
• Market Monitoring: Proactively checking the site to ensure all events are displayed correctly, odds are updating, and the betting offer is competitive.
• Feed Management: acting as the first point of contact for issues with feed providers.
• Customer Support Liaison: Assisting the CS team with complex betting queries, voiding rules, and settlement disputes.
  
  

What we’re looking for

• Broad Sports Knowledge: You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but you must have a solid general understanding of the rules and betting markets for Football, Tennis, Basketball, and other sports.
• Operational Mindset: You have the patience to map data feeds correctly and the focus to spot errors in settlement.
• Risk Awareness: You understand what Arbitrage, Faster Feeds, and Sharp Action look like on a bet ticker.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable learning back-office tools, mapping software, and working with Excel.
• Attention to Detail: A mistake in mapping can bring down a market. We need someone who double-checks their work.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and a high level of self-motivation
• Flexibility to work during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Based in Malta or willing to relocate (relocation support provided)
