Summer Events & Leisure Manager

EF Language School, StJulian`s is seeking to recruit an acting Events & Leisure manager. The ideal candidate will be able to start during the first week in May, and see the summer through until Mid September. Ideally you are a local, currently living in Malta and familiar with the hectic summer events scene. Experience in a similar role will be considered a strong asset for this role.

You will ensure that the carefully planned Events & leisure summer plan will role out seamlessly for our students. As a support system you will be working directly with an Activity Coordinator and reporting directly to the School Director. Liasing directly with suppliers, Activity leaders and the Activities coordinator, your job duties will consist of but not be limited to:

Responsibilities
Implementing, checking and Coordination of activities plan
Interacting with other departments (Academic, accounts, administration, accommodation) and being the bonding gel with events and activities for STAFF
Meeting , dealing with suppliers to ensure all activities run smoothly and to plan
Ensuring financial viability of all activities
Investing time with the students and make them integrate into the school and into the local lifestyle.
Investing time with the activities team and make them integrate into the school and with guests
Providing information and assistance to students enquiring about the summer leisure program
Verifying invoices and accounts re activities
Ensuring that weekly students emails shot are sent out / and Campus Connect (online platform ) is always updated with all Activities
Managing the Crave Kitchen Cafeteria and the supplier there
Liase with Beach Club, cafeteria and residences by regular updates on the events & leisure program week by week
Ensuring all activity staff have been trained – liasing with HR and Activities coordinator
Follow up of Activity staff through spot visits and mentoring
Checking of all planned activities with allocated suppliers and follow up to check that what was promised from them is actually delivered in the best possible standard to the students
Any other duties that may be request from time to time
Integrate Activities together with Academics and work on synergies with Teachers and staff.
Education and requirements
We are looking for an overall people person – who loves the hospitality and leisure industry
Principal skill to coordinate, implement and solve
Great communication skills, motivator, disciplinary, ability to train people, focused on guest service
Must be impeccably organised, with eye for detail and a self starter who can see the day through with little supervision
