Betsson Group is looking for a Talent Performance Lead in Malta!

Step into a high-impact role where you’ll shape how performance and conduct are managed across our organisation. As our Talent Performance Lead, you will take full ownership of Malta’s performance and employee relations cases – coaching managers, driving accountability, and partnering closely with Legal to ensure fair, consistent and compliant outcomes. You’ll oversee global performance operations, safeguard process standards, and work with HRBPs to maintain alignment across all locations. If you bring strong Maltese employment law expertise, a direct and engaging style, and the confidence to guide managers through tough conversations, this is your opportunity to lead meaningful change and elevate performance across the group.

A taster of what you will be involved with:

Global Performance Governance

  • Maintain a live, accurate global register of all performance and ER cases (status, risk level, timeline, owner, SLA, compliance).
  • Audit case quality, documentation, process adherence and procedural fairness.
  • Ensure all locations initiate, document and progress ER cases correctly and on time.
  • Flag non-compliance, risk, or delays to HR Managers and Directors.
  • Build and maintain global dashboards, MI reporting, and trend analysis.

Malta Case Ownership

  • Lead and execute all employee relations cases in Malta.
  • Conduct investigations, hearings, documentation, follow-through, and outcomes.
  • Ensure legal compliance, procedural fairness, and internal policy alignment.
  • Manage risk and escalations with confidence and precision.

Standardisation & Process Quality

  • Define and uphold global performance case standards, workflows and SLAs.
  • Drive operational consistency without removing local accountability.
  • Sense-check case handling approaches across markets and course-correct where needed.
  • Maintain templated documentation (PIPs, invite letters, outcomes, improvement plans, tracking).

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify themes, systemic manager capability gaps, procedural risks or legal exposure early.
  • Escalate business-critical risk before it becomes a problem.
  • Maintain audit-ready case records and documentation standards.
  • Partner with Directors on compliance improvements, policy gaps and enhancements.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ HR experience with at least 3 years focused on employee relations, case handling, or HR advisory work.
  • Excellent knowledge of Maltese Labour Laws.
  • Proven ability to manage high-risk / high-volume ER casework independently.
  • Ability to identify trends and drive consistent practice across diverse HR teams.
  • Skilled communicator and natural coach; able to influence without authority.
  • Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders when process or quality is at risk.
  • Strong analytical ability with accurate data discipline.
