Role Overview

As a Tax Executive, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services to a portfolio of clients. You will be involved in various aspects of tax planning and compliance, offering expertise in areas such as international tax optimization, asset protection, and estate planning. Your ability to analyse complex tax issues and provide strategic advice will be crucial to the success of the company and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax Advisory: Provide expert advice on international tax structuring, asset protection, estate planning, and other tax-related matters.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns for both corporate and private clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
• Statutory Filings: Manage and submit statutory filings with the CFR on behalf of clients.
• Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing their tax queries and concerns.
• Content Development: Assist in creating informative articles, newsletters, and marketing materials on tax topics.
• Legislative Monitoring: Stay abreast of changes in domestic tax legislation and advise clients on their potential impact.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accountancy, law, or a similar field, preferably with a specialisation in taxation.
• Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a tax-focused environment.
• Desirable Qualifications: Further tax specialisation (Masters in Tax, ADIT, MIT Tax Specialisation) is an advantage.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Maltese tax legislation, particularly in income tax.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with standard software packages (MS Office).
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, fostering effective teamwork.
• Ethical Standards: Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethics and integrity.
• Problem-Solving: Aptitude for analysing complex tax issues and developing practical solutions.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
