Technical Sales Engineer

Established 70 years ago, AFS is a market leader in providing a solution-oriented approach to water handling products and services, including pumps, pipe systems, water storage and wastewater handling.

We are presently looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sales of industry-related equipment such as pumps, pipe systems, valves, water storage solutions and wastewater handling products amongst others
  • Providing technical guidance and recommending bespoke suitable solutions based on client requirements
  • Preparation of quotations, technical proposals and system selections as directed by management accordingly
  • Assisting in sales that are generated over-the-counter, by telephone, e-mail or via social media
  • Where necessary conducting site visits to better understand client needs and applications
  • Visit key customers to maintain and enhance relationships
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure efficient processing of orders and delivery of solutions.

Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge and professionalism is essential for success in this role. The Technical Sales Engineer must be proactive in understanding customer requirements, proposing effective solutions, and following through from initial enquiry to final sale. Therefore, we are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualities:

  • Have a good command of Microsoft Office software
  • Possess solid time management and organizational skills
  • Driving License
  • Fluency in English is a must whilst fluency in Maltese will be appreciated.

Candidates with previous experience in technical sales or with knowledge of pumps, water systems, building services or related products will be given preference, although comprehensive training will be provided.
