Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Waiter to join our team. As Waiter, your main responsibility will be to ensure that our customers have an enjoyable and memorable dining experience.

Educational and skill requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a personalised and attentive guest experience, anticipating guest needs and preferences at all times
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and pairing recommendations (e.g. wines, cocktails)
  • Ensure all tables are set and maintained according to the hotel’s luxury presentation standards
  • Handle guest enquiries, special requests, and complaints with professionalism, discretion, and efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodate dietary requirements or allergies
  • Monitor table progress and pace service appropriately to enhance the dining experience
  • Upsell menu items, specials, and premium beverages to maximise revenue while enhancing guest satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, service stations, and equipment at all times
  • Process payments accurately and securely, ensuring a smooth and seamless billing experience
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members to uphold service standards
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Participate in daily briefings and contribute feedback to improve service quality
  • Support special events, private dining, and VIP services with exceptional attention to detail
  • Build rapport with returning guests to encourage loyalty and repeat business
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance in line with the hotel’s brand image
  • Work closely with the other departments to ensure a streamlined experience
Qualifications

Experience

  • Must have 2+ years’ experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality

Skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of food, beverages, and wine pairing
  • Professional appearance and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest requests
  • Basic cash handling and numeracy skills
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
