MFF Ltd is a forward looking company basing its strategies on long-term objectives and investments. mff-about-us-imgToday, MFF Ltd is a very successful fish farming company with over 20 years of farming experience. MFF Ltd was established in 1993 as part of the Ebcon Group of Companies with the aim of producing 500 metric tonnes annually of gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) and European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) for the local market and for export. The company’s cages were initially set up in Marsaxlokk Port in Malta. In 1994 the production units was moved to an offshore site in the south east of Malta. In the year 2000, the company applied its experience in the industry to diversify its production with the Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus). Atlantic Bluefin tuna cages were set up in 2002 and from then onwards the company has kept up a regular annual supply of bluefin Tuna to the international sushi and sashimi markets, mainly in Japan. In order to remain successful in the Atlantic bluefin tuna industry, MFF Ltd has concentrated on improving its operations and optimising the product quality whilst exploring new potential developments in the sector. In fact, since 2003, MFF Ltd has succeeded by establishing strong working relationships with professional leaders in the fishing and marketing industry who have committed themselves towards our Company’s operations.
