Pitre’ is an established Maltese brand that traces its roots back to a small office in Valletta in 1958. Founded by Joseph Pitre’, the business started out with the importation and distribution of bathroom supplies and stationery in a budding Maltese market. Pitre’ continued to grow in its reputation by exploring new opportunities, such as toys, food stuffs, and wearing apparel. A chance meeting between Joseph Pitre’ and a third party lead to new business ventures that brought the company in contact with emerging brands in tiling, electronics, and other household items. A couple of trial imports of innovative ceramic tiles from Italy in the late 1960s culminated into the opening of the first Pitre’ Bathrooms showroom in 1972 in Triq il-Kaccatur Qormi. This was quickly followed by Pitre’ Hardware a couple of years later. After decades of work, Joseph Pitre’ has now passed on to his three children; Mireille, Camille, and Alain. They each bring in fresh expertise and ideas, and have so far managed to redefine and solidify the Pitre’ brand in a very competitive market. One of their recent successes includes the launch of Pitre’ Home, an idea that conceived through years of listening to client needs and officially launched in 2014.
