Assistant Maintenance Manager

We are currently seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team.

The Job

  • Ensure smooth operation of all works carried out.
  • Adjust tasks and schedules based on priorities and instruct best work practices.
  • Plan and coordinate in-house and outsourced works with timelines and execution.
  • Prepare and manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor daily maintenance of software entries vs. jobs completed to track staff productivity.
  • Investigate maintenance issues firsthand and propose solutions with superiors.
  • Support technicians on specific jobs when needed.
  • Inspect facilities periodically to detect problems and maintenance needs.
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (e.g., HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation).
  • Supervise contractors and tradespeople during installations, repairs, or maintenance.
  • Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget.
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Sign up for purchase orders and invoices for requested materials.
  • Ensure cost-effectiveness and quality in outsourced works and material procurement.
  • Enforce adherence to quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance technicians.
  • Participate in coordination and execution of projects (e.g., renovations).
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and reduce costs.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Higher Technical Diploma (HTD) or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
  • Electrical Licence A or B is an asset.
  • Familiarity with modern HVAC and ELV systems.
  • Highly motivated, pragmatic, and hands-on approach to work.
