Pool Technician

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Pool Technician to join our Maintenance/Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily maintenance, water quality management, and upkeep of the hotel's swimming pools, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and welcoming for guests at all times.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Test and monitor pool water quality daily, adjusting chemical dosing (chlorine, pH, etc.) to maintain safe and compliant levels
Operate and maintain pool plant equipment, including pumps, filtration systems, and dosing units
Carry out routine cleaning of pools, including skimming, vacuuming, and cleaning pool surrounds
Identify and report any faults or issues with pool plant, equipment, or pool areas, and carry out minor repairs as needed
Keep accurate records of water testing results, chemical usage, and maintenance carried out, in line with health and safety regulations
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and hygiene standards for pool operations
Respond promptly to any pool-related issues or emergencies
Liaise with the wider Maintenance/Engineering team and external contractors for specialised servicing or repairs
Maintain pool areas, including sun loungers, signage, and safety equipment, and kids water park equipment in good and safe condition

Educational and skill requirements

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Pool Technician or in a similar pool/water maintenance role, ideally within a hotel or resort environment
Good understanding of pool water chemistry and water treatment processes
Relevant pool plant operator certification is an asset
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to record-keeping
Good problem-solving skills and a hands-on, can-do attitude
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations
Basic English communication skills
