Chef de Partie

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chef De Partie at Fernandõ Gastrotheque, located in Sliema, Malta.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • The Chef De Partie will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes within their section.
  • The role involves ensuring high standards of food hygiene and health and safety, managing and training commis chefs, and monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Additionally, the Chef De Partie will collaborate with other kitchen teams and assist with menu development.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Proven experience as a Chef De Partie, Cook, or in a similar role in a fine dining restaurant
  • Culinary certification or formal culinary training
  • Excellent cooking skills, with a focus on accuracy and presentation
  • Proficient knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
