As part of the expansion strategy, RwandAir is seeking experienced, safety-focused aviation professionals to join our Flight Operations team as First Officers on the Boeing 737, Airbus A330, and Dash 8 Q400 fleets.
Job Title: First Officer (Co-Pilot)
Reports to: Fleet Manager
Fleet: Boeing 737 (B737), Airbus A330 and DH8 Q400
Department: Flight Operations
Location: Kigali International Airport
Job Purpose
The First Officer supports the Captain in the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned aircraft. The role requires strong technical competence, sound judgement, effective crew coordination, and acommitment to the highest standards of safety and customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable aviation regulations, company procedures, and operational manuals.
- Support the Captain in all phases of flight planning and execution.
- Monitor flight progress, aircraft systems, and procedural compliance at all times.
- Immediately communicate safety concerns, deviations, or developing hazards to the Captain.
- Assist in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations.
- Report hazards, incidents, and occurrences in accordance with Safety Management System requirements.
- Assume command responsibilities when authorized or required under applicable regulations.
About You – Minimum Standard Qualifications and Experience;
Essential
- Valid ICAO, EASA, or FAA licence.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid Radio Telephony Licence or endorsement.
- Current type rating on B737, A330, or Q400.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.
- Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time.
- Minimum 500 hours on type.
- No history of accidents or incidents attributable to gross negligence.
