Fleet, Tools and Facility Manager

The Fleet, Tools and Facility Manager is responsible for the management, maintenance, and
optimization of the company’s fleet, operational equipment, and facilities, ensuring the
availability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of assets supporting production and project
activities.
Within a shipyard environment, the role is responsible for ensuring operational continuity by
providing effective management of vehicles, equipment, workshops, warehouses, dry docks, and
company facilities.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Fleet Management
• Manage the company fleet, including passenger vehicles, vans, operational vehicles,
forklifts, aerial work platforms, cranes, and other specialized equipment.
• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor operating costs, fuel consumption, and fleet utilization.
• Manage leasing agreements, rentals, purchases, and disposal of vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with transportation, operational, and safety regulations.
• Monitor insurance coverage, inspections, certifications, and mandatory documentation.


Tools and Production Equipment Management
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and efficiency of shipyard tools and production
equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and certification activities.
• Manage the inventory of tools, machinery, and specialized equipment.
• Monitor the lifecycle of technical assets and equipment.
• Develop replacement, renewal, and capital investment plans.
• Optimize the allocation and utilization of resources across projects, workshops, and
shipyard operations.


Facilities and Infrastructure Management

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of dry docks, buildings, workshops,
warehouses, and operational areas.
• Ensure the full functionality of dry dock systems, including pumps, valves, dock gates,
and related infrastructure.
• Guarantee the proper operation of offices, production facilities, storage areas, and support
buildings.
• Manage contracts and relationships with external maintenance providers and service
contractors.
• Plan and implement facility improvement projects and infrastructure investments.
• Monitor energy consumption and facility operating costs.

Compliance and Safety
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Support the HSE department during inspections, audits, and statutory verifications.
• Ensure all equipment and assets comply with regulatory requirements and certification
standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audits related to company assets and facilities.

Operational Support to Projects
• Plan the availability of vehicles, equipment, and technical resources according to project
schedules and operational requirements.
• Support Project Managers and Operations Management in resource planning and
allocation.
• Coordinate transfers and redeployment of equipment and assets between shipyards,
facilities, and project locations.

Educational and skill requirements

Education
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval Engineering, Facility
Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Technical diploma combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, industrial asset management,
facility management, or maintenance management roles.

• Previous experience in one or more of the following sectors is preferred:
o Shipbuilding and ship repair.
o Industrial manufacturing.
o Plant and facility maintenance.
o Large-scale infrastructure operations.


Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles and asset lifecycle
management.
• Experience managing industrial equipment, lifting equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control, and contractor management.
• Proficiency in CMMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
