About the Department
The Company Service Providers Supervision department is responsible for overseeing the operations of company service providers (CSPs), including both entities and individuals who offer corporate services. These services encompass the formation of companies, directorship or company secretary roles, as well as providing registered office addresses, business, or correspondence addresses. The department’s primary objective is to ensure that CSPs comply with relevant legislation, thereby safeguarding the interests of their clients and upholding regulatory standards.
About the Role
As the Head of CSPs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the team, leading efforts to enhance regulatory oversight, and raising industry standards. This position requires a forward-thinking individual who can foster a culture of compliance, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sector.
- Developing and executing a strategic plan for the CSP supervision function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Enhancing supervision methods and processes to improve regulatory outcomes and industry compliance.
- Promoting a strong compliance culture within the CSP sector, raising awareness and standards across the industry.
- Representing the department and the Authority at both local and international forums, addressing issues related to CSP supervision.
- Managing the distribution of work, setting clear objectives, and ensuring that both individual and team targets are met.
- Collaborating with other regulatory and management teams across the organization to ensure seamless operations.
- Building and nurturing relationships with other internal functions to foster better communication and teamwork.
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting team members, ensuring their ongoing professional development and empowering them through effective delegation.
- Overseeing staff recruitment, development, training, and retention efforts, ensuring the function has the appropriate resources and structure.
- Preparing and managing resource requests, aligning staffing and budget needs with organizational priorities.
- Maintaining and updating policies and procedures relevant to the CSP supervision function.
- Addressing any operational issues that arise, working closely with the Chief Officer Supervision and other senior leadership as needed.
- Handling other duties as assigned by the Chief Officer Supervision, based on the evolving needs of the department and organization.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong background in Law, Accountancy, Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have:
- A National Qualification Framework Level 6 or higher academic qualification, certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC), or an internationally recognised professional qualification of a similar level.
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant area would be considered an asset.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a senior regulatory or supervisory role, preferably with twelve (12) years of total experience in the financial services sector.
- For candidates without formal qualifications, at least fourteen (14) years of relevant experience will also be considered.
