Continental Cars Limited was founded in 1952 and was formed for the purpose of importing the Volkswagen Beetles. Following the successful partnership with VW, the company was then appointed sole distributor for Audi and Porsche in 1977 and then include SEAT to their portfolio in 2009.. The CUPRA brand has been added to the Continental Cars portfolio in 2021.

High Voltage Technician

The High Voltage Technician specialises in diagnosing faults within the high voltage system of the vehicle and to perform replacement of complete high voltage components, such as the high voltage battery, motor and power electronics. The HVT is also responsible to oversee repairs being carried out on electric vehicles by non-HVTs.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Carry out de-energisation and re-energisation of the high voltage system and ensure that the high voltage system is truly disconnected.
Carry out diagnosis on the high voltage system and its components.
Carry out replacement of high voltage components as per manufacturer’s specifications.
Carry out classification of the high voltage battery and ensure all documentation is correctly filled in.
Document repairs and diagnosis performed on job card.
Perform repairs as per repair manuals and using the special tools required to safely conduct the repair.
Perform diagnosis and repairs on systems fitted on a vehicle with an internal combustion engine.
Make proper use of tools and equipment, including personal protective clothing provided.
Keep the work area clean and tidy to promote and maintain a safe working environment.
Adhere strictly to the health and safety regulations and also to company and franchise-required standards.
Attend training organised locally and overseas when and as required.
Carry out additional duties assigned by the Workshop Manager as required

Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

Electrical – Knowledge on electrical systems, including modules, sensors and actuators, wiring harnesses repair/replacement and knowledge on different network models, included CAN, FlexRay, MOST, LIN and ethernet.

English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

Maltese Language – Knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset
