P1 Paint Technician

Forming part of the Paint Shop, the P1 Paint Technician carries out paint repairs on aircraft external and internal components which include preparation of parts, sanding and paint removal either by chemical or mechanical means, and final application of paint as necessary either by brush, roller or spray gun.

The role also involves the reading and understanding technical drawings and the applicable approved maintenance data.

Position Key Accountabilities

  • Promote a positive safety culture and to ensure that the safety and quality policy is communicated, promoted and implemented within the organization;
  • Ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS manual;
  • Read, understand and work in accordance with the applicable and approved maintenance data such as but not limited to SRM, AMM, IPC, applicable drawings, Engineering Orders, Job cards, etc.;
  • Repair and repaint aircraft and aircraft components;
  • Maintains tools, equipment and workplace in a serviceable condition and checks for completeness after each maintenance task according company standards;
  • Be aware of the expected quality standards of the work performed;
  • Use IT systems to perform tasks such as look for approved maintenance data, clock on job cards, etc.;
  • Engage in other duties as may be required from time to time.

  • Safety: Prevent inadvertent or hazardous operation leading to injury or loss of personnel or equipment.
  • Quality: Stick to the established approved standards and processes.
  • Delivery: On time delivery with set targets and levels, KPIs, CI.
  • Cost: Be active in improving work efficiency.
  • People: Be self-motivated and continues to develop one self
  • 6S: Manage and keep housekeeping of the assigned working area and tools under his/her responsibility.


Educational Qualifications, Experience and Personal Skills

  • Possess adequate work experience in aircraft painting procedures; and/or
  • Have experience in a similar industry such as in the automotive and marine industry;
  • Possess a spray painters’ course such as the MCAST Diploma in Automotive Repair (Body and Paint) or equivalent course;
  • Have a strong demonstrated commitment to detail, precise and high-quality work;
  • Be a good team player;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Able to read and write in English;
  • Be ready to work shift including nightshifts and weekends.
