In this nursing role, you will prepare the operating room for the patient, setting up the tools and making sure the field is sterile. It is the duty of the scrub nurse to assist the surgical team by donning sterile masks, gloves and gowns as well as aid the physician by passing instruments during surgery. It is essential to maintain a high standard of nursing care. The role should be carried out in professional manner and in accordance with St James Hospital protocols and consultants&rsquo; preferences.

<li>Ensuring all necessary equipment is available for surgical procedures prior to surgery and to ensure the theatre and its areas are maintained to the required standard before, during and after surgery. It is imperative that a sterile environment is always maintained.</li>
<li>Other responsibilities include ensuring adequate levels of stock are maintained within theatre and to complete all swab checks and instrument checks in accordance with the company policy.</li>

 - Issue bills to patients on a timely basis (both insured in-patients and outpatients, as well as self-pay in-patients).

 - Correspondence with local and foreign companies covering the patients’ expenses may be necessary.

 - Other day-to-day accounting duties to support the Financial Controller of the Company.

The Storekeeper is responsible for all goods stored within the Procurement Department/Stores. One of the main objectives of the position is to ensure effective storage, delivery and receiving of goods. 
Key Tasks &amp; Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Receiving and inspecting goods and supplies received against invoices and purchase orders; ensuring that expiry dates and supplies quality are up to company standards.</li>
<li>Sorting, coding, stacking and checking stored supplies.</li>
<li>Maintaining par stock levels.</li>
<li>Participating and coordinating stock takes at a regular and as needed basis.</li>
<li>Rotating stock according to FIFO, checking expiry dates and preparing order lists together with purchasing officer.</li>
<li>Preparing timely requisitions according to requisition planning. Ensuring that all items are coded correctly on their respective shelves and that codes tally with the information on the hospital information system</li>
<li>Maintaining the Stores in a clean, tidy and organised manner.</li>
<li>Performing duties in accordance with Saint James Hospital Group policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Performing duties in accordance with occupational health and safety, equal opportunity and other relevant personnel policies / legislation.</li>
