The Radio Networks Team are responsible for the design, commissioning, optimisation and end-to-end quality of Epic mobile radio and access networks which has been awarded multiple best network awards. As a radio network engineer you will have the opportunity to contribute towards the further development of Epic mobile and access network whilst working on next generation wireless technologies.
- Performing radio site surveys and link budget planning for both new radio site integration and/or radio site relocation
- Manage drive testing campaigns and conduct drive test data analysis with the aim of optimising radio network quality.
- Perform operational activities on radio network elements including software upgrades, commissioning and configuration of new radio network elements.
- Carry out troubleshooting of network quality complaints
- Define and/or adapt processes and procedures for RF engineering tasks
- Assist in the budget preparation and procurements for all aspects related to indoor radio network design
- Liaise with other teams in order to carry out the support function
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
- MQF Level 6 / 7 in Engineering or ICT
- General understanding of Networking and Telecommunications.
- An analytical approach coupled with strong organisational and communication skills
- Eager to learn and expand knowledge through both class based and on the job training
- Be a team player and ready to work under pressure without supervision
- Valid driving license.
Preferred Requirements:
- 1-2 years of work experience in a network engineering capacity.
- Knowledge of RF related concepts as applied to mobile radio network design together with a good knowledge of radio propagation modelling will be considered an asset
- Experience in the operation of Ericsson Radio System elements will be considered an asset.
