Risk Officer
Meliteh Recruiting is seeking an experienced Risk Officer to join our client team on a full-time basis in Malta.
The Risk Officer will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, monitoring risk exposure, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
Reporting to the CEO and accountable to the Group CSRO, the Risk Officer will oversee risk management processes across the organization, ensuring they align with the company’s risk appetite.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, policies, and procedures
• Monitor the company’s risk profile and ensure appropriate risk management strategies are in place
• Identify and evaluate potential risks and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate them
• Collaborate with business units to integrate risk management into all business processes
• Monitor and report on key risk indicators to senior management
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in coordination with the Compliance team
• Lead risk assessments and conduct risk analyses, ensuring that findings are addressed
• Provide risk management training and education across the organization
• Maintain and support the Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework
• Develop and manage the third-party risk management program, including due diligence and ongoing monitoring
• Organize and lead the Risk and Compliance Committee to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
• Conduct quarterly reviews of the company’s Risk Appetite to ensure risks remain within acceptable levels
• Work with the Compliance function to minimize compliance risk and improve risk management processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Proven experience in risk management within a financial services environment or similar industry
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and risk mitigation strategies
• Familiarity with EU regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and stakeholders
• Experience in developing and maintaining Business Continuity Management (BCM) frameworks
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and work under pressure
• Professional qualifications in risk management (e.g., FRM, PRM, or equivalent) would be an asset
